Thoughts on Singing
When I sing, I can’t plan the future or contemplate the past-there’s no time. I live in the moment: inhale, make sound, inhale, make sound. I forget everything but the song. It is absolute freedom from thought, total release from worry. Absorbed in a project whose only goal is beauty, the mind loosens its imagined hold on everything. Instead it fills up, over and over, one note at at time.
